A Red Sea Lifestyle Guide for Property Owners

22 June 2026 8 min read admin, Owner Relations

From the best months to walk the Corniche to what to pack, a practical guide to living between visits on the Egyptian coast.

Owning a property on the Red Sea coast is more rewarding when you treat it as a place you live rather than a place you visit. This guide covers what it actually takes to spend extended time in Hurghada as an owner.

Choosing when to stay

November through March is the sweet spot. Temperatures are warm enough for the sea without the intensity of July and August, and the resort towns settle into a comfortable rhythm. Spring and autumn are ideal for longer stays if you want to work remotely from the coast.

Summer remains popular with European families in particular, when the school holiday calendar makes an Egyptian coast stay straightforward. Book earlier in the season if you want a specific sea-facing unit during those weeks.

Living by the water

  • Snorkelling at the near reefs, often reachable within a short swim from shore
  • Diving excursions to the deeper wall sites further south along the coast
  • Kayaking and paddleboarding in the sheltered bays during the calmer months
  • Beach clubs and sea-facing cafés along the main resort strips

Getting around

The southern resort belt is wide and spread out, so having a car makes a real difference to how much you can see. Many owners also arrange regular housekeeping and a rental manager so the property is being looked after while they are away, which removes the need to maintain a routine between visits.

What to bring

  • Light, breathable clothing and a good pair of sandals
  • Reef-safe sun protection, which is inexpensive locally and available widely
  • A card pack of popular European and Middle Eastern brands for anything you forget
  • A universal adaptor and a local SIM arrangement if you stay for extended periods

Owners who spend three months here a year almost never go back to visiting for a week. It is a coastal town with a year-round rhythm, not a seasonal resort.
